Hi! I’m Dr. Mohammad Mainayar but most people call me Dr. Mo.
I was born and raised right outside of Seattle however NYC is now my home. I am here for the hustle and bustle, people, food, culture and adventures that are exclusive only to NYC. Practicing orthodontics in NYC is a challenge however I always look forward coming up to Poughkeepsie and getting out of the concrete jungle. I enjoy riding the train viewing the stunning natural beauty and history which the mid-Hudson valley has to offer. I enjoy meeting new people, trying new restaurants, cooking, watching football (SeaHawks!) and doing a wide variety of sports from hiking on the many trails around the Hudson valley, golfing, running, biking, swimming, kayaking and wakeboarding.
I’ve always been an artistic individual yet a science nerd all my life. Dentistry, more specifically Orthodontics, allows for both of those qualities to shine. I pursued my college degree at the University of Washington with a BA in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. I then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Immediately thereafter I continued my post-doctoral education at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I received my General Practice Residency (GPR) certificate. To top it all off I pursued my specialty training in Orthodontics as the chief resident for over two years at the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving my Certificate in Orthodontics, I moved back to Seattle and continued practicing since 2012 in my private office and a community health center serving disenfranchised populations in Western Washington. I continue to be an active member of the American Association of Orthodontist and was a member of the executive board of the Washington State Society of Orthodontists for the past 5 years.
I can’t wait to meet, treat and find out more about you on your journey to the perfect smile!
